God Will Do A New Thing!

One Bible verse in particular comes to mind when I think of how God does new things in our lives. 

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:18-19

God is more than capable of turning our situations around and creating a new thing from the old. He can masterfully carve out a new life for us, a new relationship, a new job opportunity.

But it’s our job to accept. God has so much for us, so much that He is longing to bless us with. But if we hold on too tightly to something, we’ll be unwilling to hand it over to Him. Our blessings will be hindered as we cling to what was instead of embrace what He has waiting ahead.

We are commanded to forget the former things and to not dwell on them in order to receive the new that God wants to give. He doesn’t want us holding onto something He knows will only cause us harm. He Will do a new thing, if we obey.

I learned the hard way. I was reluctant to hand over what I held dear, what I believed was good for me, and I found the pain to be unbearable as I clutched tightly to it. 

And now…I am learning to…

Turn Away From the Old!!

Make Room for Something New!!

God’s plans are always better than our own. Trust that He knows what He is doing. When you relinquish something you no longer need, He will place an even greater blessing in that vacant space.

The little painting below portrays the courage it takes to turn from what we don’t need and forget the former things. Once we do that, we will come face to face with new and beautiful blessings. 

He is doing a new thing in my life and He can do a new thing in yours, too!
