Beauty in Those Neutrals

Vibrant tones.

Neutral tones.

It doesn’t take much to see which colour palette brings forth a more rich, warm, and cheerful image. Vibrant tones are a joy to see and evoke a gleeful feeling in one’s soul. 

I deeply appreciate these colours and I love to create with them.

But what about neutrals?

We often want our lives to be full of brightness, happiness, and joy. But what happens when God puts us in a more dull setting, a place where nothing appears grand, nothing appears as we believe it should?

The reality is…God will do that. And He does that to strengthen us, grow us. Hard times are not meant as punishment. God knows that the best way for us to learn is to take us out of our comfort zone and place us into the complete opposite of that.

Neutral tones!

They may not hold the same beauty as bright tones, but they have their very own appeal. As can our difficult situations. God shows us the light in our darkness, and we would have never seen that light so clearly if we had not first been in the dark and had known it. You see, the dark can reveal just how bright something truly is. 

I love vibrant colours. But oftentimes, a unique delight is found in a dull, boring palette of neutrals. And I love that!

I am not saying I love when times are hard, or even that I desire to be in tough situations, but God has truly been teaching me how to be content no matter what I am going through, and I have learned that I can choose to see the good when it appears there is none.

Life can be a challenge. It’s not always bright moments. But take courage. Choose to see and God will reveal!
